Our online only Custom Made Dress Service is for Brides, Bridesmaids, Flower Girls, mother of the bride / groom. The Bridesmaid and cocktail length dresses shown are also suitable as evening or prom dresses while flowergirl dresses are also suitable for first communion. By offering an online only service we are able to keep the costs down for everyone. We don't hold stock to keep our overheads as low as possible, however, we have some sample dresses in our retail outlet to show the quality of the gowns we can offer. Just think, you can have your heavenly, dream dress made the way you want it, in any size and your choice of colour you want without it costing you the earth. If you don't see a dress you like on our website, please send us a photograph (.jpg or .gif only please) and we will give you a quote, please be aware that dependant on the design and detailing required, the price quoted may be higher than the average price of dresses on our site (quotes for these dresses usually range between £250 - £400), this is due to additional work involved. We also have a page of Plus Size dresses which have been specifically designed for you gorgeous Brides to be who know Big is Beautiful too! Most of our dresses can be made in plus sizes - we do not charge extra for this service. When ordering bespoke, made to measure items please allow at least 4-6 weeks from the time of order to the date you require your dress, it is preferable to allow 12 weeks for your order to be completed. From time to time we experience a rush of orders or have a number of orders where the dresses are very detailed, this means that dresses will take nearer 12 weeks to be completed. Important information: Should you require your dress in less than 6 weeks you must email us first so that our dressmakers can be contacted and a timescale agreed in advance. If a dress has a lot of embroidery or beaded detail, please be aware that it may not be suitable for a rush order of less than 4 weeks. Please be aware that dependant on the design of the dress and the timescale involved this priority service may require an additional fee. Please also be aware that at certain times of the year a quota system may need to be put into place for rush orders and it will be strictly on a first come, first served basis.
Below you will find a note of how and where to take the measurements required. I know some of the measurements sound a bit weird but the more measurements you take the better the fit. Once you have made a note of your measurements, please complete the Bespoke Dress Form and submit it as soon as you have made your payment. Please note that no made to measure dresses orders will be processed until payment has cleared and the Bespoke Dress Form required for each dress has been received. Our prices do not include hooped petticoats / crinolines unless specified. If you require a petticoat/crinoline please let me know at time of ordering.
What style of Wedding Gown do I choose? Everyone thinks they know how to buy a wedding gown. What most women don't realize is fabrics, style and measurements can influence the style of wedding dress that best compliments a particular body type.
If you are a full figured woman the best silhouette is an A-Line. A-line lengthens the whole body without drawing attention to your waistline. The empire waist is another good choice. The empire is narrowest just below the bust and conceals your waist and hips. Many plus size girls tend to purchase wedding gowns that cover a lot of skin. If religion isn't an issue don't be afraid to show some skin. Skin is sexy and showing your arms and neckline can often make one appear smaller. Twist waist detail is great for giving the illusion of a thinner waist line. Deep V necks and scoop necks flatter curvy figures and always look best on full figured women. Avoid clingy fabrics and designs which hug the body as they will show up every lump & bump. Petite
Sheaths seem to shorten a small body even more. Stay clear of very full skirts. You want to keep your wedding dress in proportion to your body. Be careful with strapless. A petite woman may have to lift her arms to reach up to her new husband. A cap sleeve gives the feeling of a strapless gown and also serves a practical purpose in holding the gown in place. Off the shoulder gowns look wonderful on a full bust. It draws our attention upward, emphasizes the shoulders and minimizes the chest. Keep your skirt narrow. Wearing a full skirt will make you look large on top and bottom. Women who are larger through their hips and buttocks should look for a wedding dress that focuses on their upper body preferably with a full skirt. Show your arms, back and bust line.
