When buying online accurate measurements are a must.
Please use the following guide to complete the bespoke order form (you may find it useful to print off a copy of the form and use it to fill in as you measure before completing online).
You should ask a responsible person to take your measurements for you, if possible someone who has experience in doing this. For the sake of accuracy, you should not attempt to take your own measurements by yourself.
Please note: as the purchaser, you are responsible for ensuring the correct measurements and colour options have been given. We cannot accept any responsilbility for any dress which you have entered the wrong measurement and/or colour information. Everyone thinks they know how to buy a wedding gown. What most women don't realize is fabrics, style and measurements can influence the style of wedding dress that best compliments a particular body type.
Full Figure
If you are a full figured woman the best silhouette is an A-Line. A-line lengthens the whole body without drawing attention to your waistline.
The empire waist is another good choice. The empire is narrowest just below the bust and conceals your waist and hips.
Many plus size girls tend to purchase wedding gowns that cover a lot of skin. If religion isn't an issue don't be afraid to show some skin. Skin is sexy and showing your arms and neckline can often make one appear smaller.
Deep V necks and scoop necks flatter curvy figures and always look best on full figured women.
Petite
A-line wedding dresses are also flattering on a petite women. As we stated earlier it lengthens the body.
Sheaths seem to shorten a small body even more. Stay clear of very full skirts. You want to keep your wedding dress in proportion to your body.
Be careful with strapless. A petite woman may have to lift her arms to reach up to her new husband. A cap sleeve gives the feeling of a strapless gown and also serves a practical purpose in holding the gown in place.
Top Heavy
Off the shoulder gowns look wonderful on a full bust. It draws our attention upward, emphasizes the shoulders and minimizes the chest. Keep your skirt narrow. Wearing a full skirt will make you look large on top and bottom.
Pear Shaped
Women who are larger through their hips and buttocks should look for a wedding dress that focuses on their upper body preferably with a full skirt. Show your arms, back and bust line.
Corset style bodice with lacing will highlight your upper body. We want to draw attention away from your hips. Avoid pleats or gathered fabric around the waist.

Measurement Tips
Bust - Note this is not your bra size! Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust. Your arms should be relaxed, down at your sides.
You must wear a bra when taking this measurement.
Waist - This should be taken at the smallest part of your waist. Typically it`s an inch or so above your belly button. Also known as the natural waistline.
Hips - This should be taken at the widest part of your hips, across the hipbone. Measurement is taken approximately 7 inches below the natural waistline. This measurement is not needed for full gowns.
Hollow to Hem - This is the length from your hollow ( the hollow just under your neck ) to your heels. (Take the measurement from your back ). You should stand upright and your feet should keep together.
PLEASE NOTE: We will make gown 2 inches longer than this measurement to allow for the height of shoes. If you have already included the height of your shoes in your measurement or your shoe heels are higher than 2", please mention it in the comments section of the form.
It is very important to have the correct measurements . . . DO NOT GO BY YOUR STREET CLOTHES SIZE OR BRA SIZE!!!
Measuring Instructions
By following these instructions you will be providing us with your body measurements. To complete the information we need to know what "ease of wear" allowance you require to ensure your comfort whilst wearing the garment.
Full Bust:
Measure around your bust at it's fullest point. This gives your body measurement, you must now decide on your ease of wear allowance.
eg: 39" Bust + 1" ease of wear allowance (this is only an example, you must decide what you would be most comfortable with)
Waist:
Measure around your waist at smallest point. Now tie a ribbon or piece of string around the natural waist, which would be around your torso at the smallest point. This gives you, your body measurement, you must now decide on your "ease of wear" allowance.
eg 28" + 1.5" (this is only an example - you should decide on your own ease of wear).
Leave the string in place while you do the rest of the measurements. You will need it for reference for some of the other measurements.
Hips:
Take your measurement around hips at fullest point, taking note of how far down from the waist that you are measuring. This gives your body measurement, you must now decide on your "ease of wear" allowance.
Upper bust:
Measure above your breasts in the same manner as you measured across them.
This will give your body measurement, you must now decide on your "ease of wear allowance.
Under bust:
Measure under your breasts in the same manner as you measured over them.
This gives you, your body measurement, you must now decide on your "ease of wear" allowance.
Nipple to nipple:
Measure distance between bust point to bust point. Okay, technically, nipple to nipple.
Length of Shoulder to bust:
Take your measurement from the top of your shoulder down to bust point (nipple).
Front Length Shoulder to Waist:
From the same point on your shoulder, measure from there OVER your bust straight down to the ribbon on your waist. (Make sure you don't pull the tape too tight and flatten your boob and give you an incorrect measurement!)
Outer Leg:
From waist to floor.
Measurement should be taken with you wearing either the shoes you plan to wear on the day, or shoes with heels of the height you plan to wear.
Armhole:
This measurement gives us the size of the sleeve hole that you are comfortable wearing.
This measurement is subjective - you can make it as loose or as tight as you are comfortable with.
Shoulder to Shoulder:
Now from the edge of that shoulder socket, measure all the way over to the same point on the other shoulder along the back.
Neck :
You will not need this one unless your garment has a high neck and/or collar.Measure around neck making sure it isn't too tight for you.
Arm Length:
Take your measurement from top of shoulder to wrist bone (bend your wrist to give you the correct place).
Bicep :
Measure around arm at fullest part of upper arm. Please also state your "ease of wear allowance" .
Upper arm length :
Measure from outer shoulder down to bend of elbow.
Length of armpit to elbow:
Measure from armpit to bend of elbow.
Waist to hem :
Measure from waist to hem.
This should be taken with you either wearing the shoes you plan to wear on the day or by wearing shoes of the height you plan to wear.
Hollow to hem :
Measure from hollow to hem.
This should be taken with you either wearing the shoes you plan to wear on the day or by wearing shoes with the height of heel you plan to wear.
